Heres a link to an article posted this AM on Fox News. Guess I am not the only one who has questions. It still fails to answer the question of what the total impact would be. C’mon Mr. Cain, you’re a numbers guy; quit waffling and give us all the details so we can decide whether to support you or not. Or is this just a scam to get as much of your 15 minutes of fame as possible?
In last nights debate, Cain was attacked for his 9-9-9 plan. While I appreciate the candidates opportunism in furthering their own agenda at the expense of someone else’s expense, no one has actually taken the time to run the numbers publicly. Once someone does (HELLO MEDIA?) the plan will fall apart and Cain will have to come up with something else to sell to the American public.
As Cain has risen in the polls I find his answers less and less satisfactory. When he is backed in to a corner he is now changing the subject rather than fully answering the question. Also his answers are becoming monotonous in their repetitiveness.
It’s a shame to because I like his attitude and frankness. Unfortunately that won’t be enough to garner a nomination. If it was I would already be President!
I can only assume that though Herman Cain keeps touting his 9-9-9 plan, and no one seems to want to “run the numbers” that mainstream America, particular the Media, does not consider Cain a viable candidate for the Presidency.
This may be a great tactical error on the part of the powers that be and people in general. While I like Mr. Cain’s rhetoric and his straight forward attitude, I am still concerned about what appears to be a large tax increase on every single person and corporation in this country.
Mr. Cain, the problem is not lack of revenue it is an out of control Government. Your increased tax’s do nothing to address the problem. Tell us how you are going to solve the riddle of an entrenched, greedy beuracracy, angrily defending it’s candy jar?
When I first heard Herman Cain mention his plan for salvaging the economy I thought; Great! something simple with no loopholes and a small window for abuse. Last night on Hannity there was a clip of Cain addressing President Clinton where he rattled off so many numbers Clinton looked shell-shocked. Well guess what….
Under the current Federal tax code if I make $50k a year as a family my tax liability is @$2700. Under Cain’s plan I would pay $4500.
Since there currently is no National sales tax I would pay out approximately $2200 a year based on my current purchasing habits.
Since I am not a corporation I can’t speak to how the numbers would work for them.
BUT based on MY numbers I get hammered big time. My net increase in taxes is almost $4000 a year!!!! How is that going to be good for anybody but the Washington politicos?
Now I am either the smartest person in the world, since no one else has bothered to bring all this up or I am the dumbest ‘cuz I just don’t get it. So Mr Cain, perhaps you could illuminate this mushroom?
