Who is Ed Mezvinsky?… Edward “Ed” Mezvinsky born January 17, 1937, is a former Democrat congressman. As a Democrat, he represented Iowa ‘s 1st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives for two terms, From 1973 to 1977. He sat on the House Judiciary Committee that decided the fate of Richard Nixon. He and the Clintons were very politically intertwined for years. (want to bet that they still are?) In March 2001, Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 charges of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud. He was sentenced to 80 months in (Federal) prison. Ed Mezvinsky embezzled more than $10 million dollars from people via both a Ponzi scheme and the notorious Nigerian e-mail scams. After serving five years in federal prison, he was released in April 2008. He remained on federal probation through 2011, And still owes $9.4 million in restitution to his victims. So who is he? Marc and Chelsea Mezvinsky He’s Chelsea Clinton’s father-in law. They are in their early thirties and purchased a 10.5 million dollar NYC apartment Has anyone heard mention of this in any of the media? If this guy was Jenna or Barbara Bush’s, or better yet, Sarah Palin’s daughter’s, father-in- law, the news would be an everyday headline. Some say there are no double standards in politics . . .. S-u-r-e there aren’t… And people are already talking about Hillary?????????
Oh, and did i mention that Hillary was disbarred in Arkansas fro ethics violations?
Please notice that I used Mr. as a term of respect. When I refer to Obama there is no Mr., President or any other title given with respect in mind.
One of the contributors took exception to my calling Mr. Romney wish washy. You can read his comment in an earlier post so I won’t cover it again. It is his suggestion that I make note of Mr. Romneys positive qualities so I will.
Mr. Romney is an intelligent, sincere individual whom I believe is running for President for all of the right reasons. I believe he is and has always cared deeply about this country. His success in business is only indicative of the work ethic he brings to the table.
However I still say he is wish washy. Is he potentially better for the Country than Obama? Hell yes! Is he the best candidate for the job at the moment? Yes. Does he have all of the qualifications to be a respectable President? Yes.
But Mr. Romney is not, nor will he ever be the kind of person who you KNOW, upon speaking to him, is the kind of person who can step in, find a solution for any problem, either on his own or through wise selection of advisers around him. Nor does he have the charisma that people who put themselves in harms way will unquestionably give their loyalty to.
For whatever reason, or hundreds there of, people with the kind of leadership and skills we need are NOT stepping up to do their duty to this country. Be it greed, fear, disgust or just a sense of self preservation they are remaining on the sidelines hoping for someone else to fight the battle.
I just hope that some of those people with the power (under current definition) DO step forward in service of their country, before those of us that REMEMBER, are forced to take action through far more decisive and irrevocable steps.
OK. We are about halfway through the debate season and most of the candidates have managed to un-impress everyone.
Cain has risen almost as fast as Perry has flopped. No one can make statements that they will stand by. Romney flip flops like a fish out of water. Perry looks like he has a hot poker up his anus anytime he is asked a question. Cain has already revised his tax plan. Perry was asked on O’Reilly last night how his tax plan would affect Federal cash flow and he had no idea. Ron Paul looks like he will die before the Primaries. Bachman who?
The only candidate quietly going about his business, answering every question put to him with candor and conviction is Newt Gingrich. Can he get the nomination and beat Obama? I don’t believe so.
So I am forced to ask you………….If the current two Party system in all its glory can only produce this level of Candidate why don’t we have a THREE Party system? The time has come people!
I saw a partial interview of Morgan Freeman the other day where he was being asked why he called the Tea Party a racist organization. Now, I like Morgan Freeman’s acting but how does he figure this out? When pressed he lamely mumbled something about the Tea Party wanting to cut minority programs but couldn’t give an example. Nor has anyone else and this accusation keeps coming up over and over.
I suppose if you say that the Tea Party wants to end government waste and that a lot of the most wasteful and bloated Federal programs are aimed at minorities then maybe. It seems childish though to have to call an organization racist, just because you might have to go out and get a job, quit having kids or sell your new car because they took away your free housing, welfare, food stamps and beer money.
